Presbyopia is an age-related long-sightedness, which affects your ability to see objects close up. Presbyopia will affect all of us at some point in our lives. You might notice that text on your phone, in a book or on a menu is becoming more difficult to read – this could be the first signs of Presbyopia. Varifocal lenses allow you to see clearly at all distances by including a distance and a reading prescription in one lens, removing the need to take your glasses off or switch between pairs.

Varilux

E Series

The Varilux E Series lenses have a built-in swim control technology to help you achieve quick varifocal adaptation. Swim control refines the curvature of the lens to reduce ‘swim’ effect and image distortions, something that can be disorientating for new varifocal lens wearers. Experience great vision and enhanced visual comfort.

X Series: Revolutionising varifocals

This new generation of lenses allows you to seamlessly capture every detail within arm’s reach, as well as beyond. Today, everything has changed. We live in a 24/7 connected world, where multitasking is part of our normal life. With our behaviours evolving, our visual needs are also different to what they used to be. Our posture and the way we look at things have changed. Acknowledging today’s new visual needs, the Varilux team of experts have developed the new generation of Varilux lenses, Varilux X design.

Previous varifocal lenses required wearers to point their nose in the direction they would like to see. Varilux X series lenses dramatically reduce the need for this unnecessary head movement. You no longer have to struggle to find the sweet spot of the lenses to see clearly. With Varilux X series, you can see through any part of the lenses and experience enhanced vision. The X series lenses allow you to see near, far and everything in between clearly and seamlessly. The best Varilux varifocal lens for sharpness and fluid vision when looking at something close to something far away. Your new lenses will keep up with your everyday needs.

These are the personalised lenses you have being looking for.

Personalising your lenses

Your prescription is just the start! Your Varilux X series lenses can be modified by up to seven unique measurements, including: near vision behaviour, the physiological shape of your eye, your dominant eye and even the frame you wish to wear. This level of personalisation ensures that your Varilux X series lenses are unique to all of your visual needs and requirements, to deliver the very best visual experience and eyesight correction. Never miss a moment.

A Single Near Distance

Previously in the design of a progressive lens, we only considered for near vision one single plane for one single gaze direction (40 cm at 36°).

Image

Multiple Near Distances

Today for Varilux® X series, we take into account the full variety of visual needs at near. These multiple near distances correspond to a sphere between 40 and 70cm at arm’s length (from 22° to 34°).
